Raeann’s Fancy Footwork offers year round classes for ages 3 through adult.  We offer two enrollment periods.  Fall enrollment is in August where we offer morning, evenings, and Saturday classes.  Summer enrollment is in May with morning and evening classes.  We will also take enrollment throughout the year as long as there are openings in the classes.  In May we have a “Spring Dance Recital” for our dancers and performing gymnast to showcase all their hard work throughout the year.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to share our love of dance and gymnastics in a positive way with each and every one of our students.  Building confidence and self-esteem is very important here at our studio.  The students work towards goals that are set for them by their instructors and are awarded ribbons and medals for their accomplishments.  Each individual student is special to us and we want to make their experience at Raeann’s Fancy Footwork a positive one.

Raeann Gaulin

Raeann has owned and operated her own studio for the past 15 years but has been teaching dance and gymnastics in the Derby area for the past 30 years.  Raeann was a former cheerleader for the Wichita Wings Soccer team and has been a judge for many of the area scholarship pageants as well as cheerleading and dance team tryouts.  Raeann and her staff are committed to teaching their love of dance and gymnastics to all their students in a fun, safe and stress-free environment.  Raeann is very proud of her staff and how they give each and every student the attention and praise they deserve.

All dancers will perform in our Spring Recital.  Raeann and her staff work very hard all year long to put together a fantastic dance recital.  This is a big day for all our dancers and their families.  Our recital gives the dancers a chance to show off all their hard work they have done throughout the year.  We do our best to make it a very special day.  Each dancer goes home with an awards trophy and lots of great memories.

“Both of my daughters have taken gymnastics classes at Raeann's and have absolutely loved it. The kids receive individualized instruction and get to work toward personal goals to earn medals, which is so rewarding for them. The staff at Raeann's is wonderful, it's obvious they love what they do!”       Tina Blaufuss, parent

“Raeann’s is a great place to dance because you learn a lot and all the teachers have great personalities.”  Savana Albertson, student

Studio Policy

**Class fees are due the first week of every month, after the 15th of the month a $5 late fee will be added to your account.  If you have not paid for classes by the end of the month, your child will not be allowed to take classes until fees are paid.  A $20.00 service fee will be charged for any insufficient check.

**A $25.00 yearly membership fee will be due at the time you enroll.  It is good for the year as long as you are taking classes at the studio.  If you are gone for over 4 weeks and do not pay your class fees, you will have to RE-PAY your membership fee if you decide to return.

**If you miss a class, you are allowed one make-up class per month.  If you miss more than one class you can only make-up one of the missed classes.  If you have to miss some classes, you still must pay for the entire month.  You must sign-up at the front desk for a make-up time.  If you schedule a make-up class and do not come to it, that is considered your one make-up class and cannot be re-scheduled unless you have called ahead and told us you would not be there.  If you come to a class and you are not on the make-up list, you will not be allowed to take that class.  If Raeann cancels a class, we will re-schedule it.

**In case of bad weather, we will cancel classes if Derby school district closes school.  Since weather related cancellations are out of our control, those classes will NOT be made up.

**We will have classes the first four weeks of each month.  If there is a fifth week we will not have classes on those days.

**Recital- We will have a recital in the Spring for all dancers and performing gymnasts.  There will be a recital fee of $30.00 per child.  Tickets will have to be purchased for parents, families and friends to attend.  Each performer will receive an awards trophy for their participation in our recital.  Recital fees will be due April 1st, and tickets may be purchased once you pay your recital fee.  May class fees and recital fees must be paid BEFORE the recital in order for your child to participate.  Video cameras are allowed at dress rehearsal ONLY.  No video cameras will be allowed at the recital.  I hire a professional video company to come in and record the entire day so we all have a quality video.  You may purchase a video or DVD from that company.

**Dress- Gymnast must have long hair pulled back during class.  NO jeans, jean shorts, or baggy t-shirts.  Dancers will need to have the required shoes for their class by the end of the second month.  Tap combo classes will need tap and ballet shoes.  (Little Tykes classes only)  Jazz classes will need split sole jazz shoes and must wear them to class each week.  Clogging classes will need to have clogging shoes. Check with your instructor on where to purchase them.  NO WEARING JEANS TO CLASS.

**No food allowed in the studio.  If you need to eat between classes, you must go outside the building.  No one allowed in the gym area unless you are taking classes.  Brother and sisters must sit in the reception area.  We ask that parents help us enforce this rule.  Dancers must wait outside the dance room until the previous classes have been dismissed.  All classes are closed, parents may come in the last 10 minutes of each class to video or watch. (Exception being Tyke 1 Tap/Ballet, it is open for parents each week.)
